Discover How Much Weight Can You Lose in a Week Without Getting It Back

For as long as I’ve tried losing weight I’ve always wanted to know how much weight you can lose in a week.  But I’ve always wondered if all the fad diets that promise quick weight loss are actually worth it.

After all, do you really want to lose 10 pounds if in a few weeks it all comes back.  Quick weight loss and gain is how you get stretch marks and we all know that is a big problem in itself.

So is there really a best way to lose weight that quick without having some big side effects?  Well, there are things you can do to lose a little weight without seeing any big negatives.

The first is to make sure that you drink lots of water.  I’ve noticed that my metabolism really speeds up when I’m hydrated.  It sounds like a simple thing to do, but a lot of people overlook it.

And the second thing you can do is start walking more.  If you plan it right, it won’t even feel like exercise.  Where I live, I can walk down by a river and back and that takes about 30 minutes.  Remember that when you’re walking, you need to walk a little faster than usual to make sure that you get your heart pumping.

Everybody Stresses About Fast Weight Loss: Royal Bride

Tonight after dinner I read an article about the royal bride and the buzz surrounding her weight loss. Personally, I usually don’t get too much into celebrity dieting or weight loss hub bub.  However, this wedding tomorrow morning is going to be very huge, so I figured why not.

First of all, I’m not sure what the big deal is regarding her losing weight.  Every bride loses weight, or at least tries to, before her wedding.  And because celebrities are in the spotlight all the time, they tend to get talked about more than you would someone else.

We all love to gossip and we all love to hear another person’s struggles and triumphs – I guess it’s just human nature.

But what can we all learn from this?  For one, we shouldn’t focus too much on other people just for the sake of losing weight.  After all, another person losing weight won’t directly affect you at all.  Two, concentrate on “you”.  Learn to set goals for yourself and learn what it takes to make the same impact in your own life.  If that celebrity lost 20 pounds, then you can do the same.  It just seems easy because you’re seeing the finished product talked about in the media.

Weight Loss: We Let The Cat Out Of The Bag

We’ve all heard the term obesity, its hard not to hear it on a daily basis. The truth is the word obesity is everywhere and is really a household name. We’ve all heard that this or that can lead to it, or that it is on the rise, and we’ve heard the scary facts on how many Americans have it, or how many die from it yearly. We’ve also all heard about all the fad diets out there, those where you only eat this type of food, or where you count this or that, take this pill or this supplement. The truth is that just about everything you can think of someone has made into a fad diet.

Many of these diets will work for some, and many wont work for others. But what about keeping it off, shouldn’t that be the real goal a person has. Not just to lose x amount of pounds, but the goal should be “I want to lose x amount of pounds and keep it off”, one should consider how they are going to keep it off once they are done with their diet. One also needs to keep in mind that dieting isn’t just about the pounds but the inches as well.

When you diet, you should also be exercising, and if you are then you will be building muscle and the fact of the matter is that muscle weighs more then fat. So if you are concentrating simply on pounds then you may get discouraged at your weekly weigh in when the needle doesn’t move or goes up, because all that extra fat you have is turning into muscle. If you are looking at your inches as well, you may see that you lost so many inches from your mid area and this many from your butt area. As you lose fat and gain muscle you are losing inches, and inches don’t lie. Your measurements are often what determine if you are a size 6 or 8.

Concentrating on making a plan of action for after you lose the weight is also important. You need those in your circle to encourage you to keep your weight off, and stick to your plan of action. Just because you aren’t on a diet anymore doesn’t mean that you can have greasy foods multiple times a week. If you do this then you are going to gain it back with quick and quite possibly gain more back. Your body is used to running on a higher weight and more fat, so chances are you will gain it back very quick if you don’t stick with your plan.

What should your plan include you may be asking? Well the answer is really simple actually. And that is eating healthy, only going out x amount of times, letting yourself splurge once a month (ie have that rich desert, that way you keep yourself in control), and continue to exercise.

How Much Weight Could You Lose?

I was asking a few friends around work about this and they all had different answers.  The question I asked was “how much weight could you lose in 7 days?”.

I know I already addressed this, but I thought it would be neat to take a look at what other people thought.

My friend in accounting where I work thought that 2 pounds would be a safe weight to lose.  But she was really into the mindset that you shouldn’t eat as much if you are trying to lose weight.

What I told her is a weight loss tip I’ve shared with you before.  If you stop eating when you are trying to lose weight, your body will go into survival mode.  This will cause your body to start saving up more fat.  Think about it in terms of how people lived when food was scarce.  You would eat when you could.   When you couldn’t eat, your body would have to make sure that you survived until your next meail.

That same day, I asked a guy from the tech department at work the same question.  His answer was a lot different.  And first of all, men don’t think about weight loss in the same way that women do.

He said that if he wanted to lose weight that quickly, he would start a really rigid exercise and diet schedule.  He would run everyday, go to the gym everyday, and eat healthy every meal.  I told him that sounded like a lot of work.  He replied by asking me how serious I would be about losing the weight.

He has a good point and I’ve got to give him credit for such a good answer.  This just goes to show that if you really want to lose weight, you’ve got to be willing to work for it.  Not eating is a bad plan (not really a plan at all) that will backfire.

Weight Loss Tips In The News Don’t Work

I read this article about how to tell your friends if you think they are fat.  I’m really bothered by that topic for a few reasons and here they are.

First of all, if you have a friend who is overweight to the point where it is affecting their health, chances (I would bet that they are pretty good chances) are they already know this.  The last thing that they need is someone lecturing them on how great it is to be healthy.

Second, talking about a problem really never helps if you are a friend – at least in my experience it is this way.  Maybe if you are a shrink and you know exactly what to say then you might get somewhere.

A friends best role for a friend who is overweight is to go out and do stuff with your friend.  I have a friend who is a little overweight (but aren’t we all).  However, her doctor has told her that she seriously needs an exercise regimen.

That is why every Wednesday and Friday are workout days for the two of us.  And not only that, but we work together so we make it a point to eat healthy lunches together.

This just goes to show you that you can’t believe or even take advice from everything you read in the news.

Is It Healthy To Lose Weight in a Week?

Is it really that healthy to lose weight in a week?  Losing too much to quick is obviously a problem – everybody knows that.  We hear stories all the time of people starving themselves and ruining their bodies.  If that is your plan, then this info is not for you.

But for all of you who are looking for lasting results, I’d like to share something I found in the news today.

Today I was reading through the news and I came across a really interesting article.  It basically said that recent info may suggest that weight loss can ease depression.  This is something I’ve always kind of known, but it’s good to see that there are now findings to support my beliefs.

And this is just one of the benefits to losing weight.  Another would be energy.  When you are overweight, your body is obviously working hard.  But if you shed a couple of pounds, you start diverting some of that energy back where it should be.  Your mood improves, you feel better, and like we talked about above, you have more of a positive outlook on life.

So back to our main question.  Is it healthy to lose weight in a week?  I would say that it really depends.  Some diets work and some don’t.  Some exercise plans work while others are horrible.
